Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Kidbrooke Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Kidbrooke has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present in our business operations or supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to safeguard people from exploitation.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Kidbrooke provides local and regional transport, removals, and related services. Our operations rely on drivers, vehicles, equipment providers, fuel suppliers, and various subcontracted services. We understand that risks related to labour exploitation can arise wherever there is a mix of direct staff, agency workers, and external suppliers. As such, we carefully consider how our services are sourced, delivered, and supported.

We expect all people working for or on behalf of Man with Van Kidbrooke, whether directly employed, self-employed, agency-supplied, or subcontracted, to be treated fairly, lawfully, and with dignity. We also expect our suppliers to adopt and uphold similar standards in their own operations and supply chains.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

Man with Van Kidbrooke has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, servitude, and child labour. We do not knowingly engage with any organisation, or individual, involved in such practices. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter that can lead to termination of contracts or working arrangements and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.

All managers and those involved in procurement or supplier management are required to understand this zero-tolerance stance and apply it in their decision-making and day-to-day work.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners that share our values and comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws. When entering into new supplier relationships, we aim to assess the ethical standards of the supplier, including how they recruit, employ, and manage workers.

Man with Van Kidbrooke conducts proportionate checks on suppliers based on their risk profile, size, and the location and nature of the services provided. These checks may include requesting evidence of their own modern slavery policies, statements, or codes of conduct, as well as information about their employment practices and supply chains.

Where appropriate, we may carry out audits or site visits to review working conditions, verify documentation, and confirm compliance with our expectations. If any non-compliance or concern is identified, we will work collaboratively with the supplier to address it within an agreed timeframe. Persistent or serious non-compliance can result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man with Van Kidbrooke encourages anyone who has concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices associated with our business to raise those concerns as soon as possible. Concerns may relate to our own operations, colleagues, agency workers, subcontractors, or any organisation within our supply chain.

Reports can be made confidentially to a line manager or a senior member of the management team. We will treat all reports seriously, investigate them fairly, and take appropriate action where wrongdoing is found. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated.

Where there is evidence that modern slavery or human trafficking may be occurring, we will consider reporting the matter to the appropriate enforcement or safeguarding bodies.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks within Man with Van Kidbrooke. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, workforce management, and supplier engagement, are given information and guidance on recognising warning signs of exploitation and how to respond to concerns.

We strive to improve our practices over time by monitoring developments in legislation, industry standards, and best practice guidance. Feedback from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders helps us refine our procedures and strengthen our controls.

Annual Review and Approval

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with our business operations and legal obligations. As part of the review, we evaluate the adequacy of our policies, supplier checks, reporting mechanisms, and training activities, and we identify actions for further improvement where needed.

The statement is approved by the leadership of Man with Van Kidbrooke, who are responsible for ensuring that our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking is embedded throughout the organisation and reflected in the way we conduct our business every day.

This statement applies to the current financial year and will be updated and reissued following each annual review.
